Twas Three Weeks Before Christmas

Other than tipping the scales at a much higher weight than I would like, I have been amazingly active with keeping in winter upkeep mode.  I've been swimming between 4 - 5000 yds a week, keeping the running at a good clip, and getting my Netflix streaming on the stationary.  I did attempt to try to play some Modern Warfare 3 while spinning, but ended up noticing that my Kill to being Killed ratio was incredibly lopsided and not in a good way.

Quick Hits:

-I've gotten absolutely no Christmas shopping done.  But, I only work 4 more days and I'm calling it a year.  Even though my 6 months as manager was productive, I never took any time off, which I couldn't regardless, and I need to get rid of a lot of Leave, or I lose it.  So shopping I will go.  My present involves me wanted to choke the life out of the Verizon Executive that decided that tier pricing for a data plan was a good idea.

-Woodworking has become an increasing hobby of mine.  I know how to use a lot of tools, have built several things, and can safely live under the things that I have built.  Over the last couple weeks I've been making his shadow box for Cub Scouts and have had a good time doing it.  It's a nice little cedar box, I might post the finish product in a future posting.

-I'm Apolitical until April 1st.  I pay no attention to the news, and can't begin to understand how Newt got back into the national spotlight. And that is all I will say about that.

-Why can't I get interested in football, or even hockey for that matter.  I've been watching a lot less TV, and actually reading more.  Since I spend a lot more time on the computer at work, I don't boot up at home too often, and when I do, it's for some mind numbing game playing. It's the winter, what else do you want me to do.

-And as always, we're supposed to be getting some lake effect snows tonight.  I hate the cold, being cold, and the white crap that comes with it.  BUT, my wife is happy, my oldest boy is looking forward to skiing again, and all three want to go sledding.  I consider it a sacrifice for the family...for now.

Just don't have much else going through my mind.  Be careful out there shopping.  And even more so if your training in the colder climates.  For those of you in the warmer areas that read this drivel....I hope it rains.

On On
