The lasts of everything...

With only a week to go before the big race, the training is drawing to a close too. The last of the long rides went down today, scheduled for 50, I said screw it at 44 miles. My thinking being that if that extra 6 miles makes the difference next week on the roads around Louisville, then I had bigger problems than that. I have an 8 mile run planned for tomorrow, a short ride of 20-25 miles on Monday, a 2000 yd swim on Tuesday, and a final run on Wednesday to shut down the training completely. My wife told me that I looked tired and that maybe sleep should be the biggest thing to keep an eye on this week. And I completely agree.

The bike was adjusted this past week, and it runs pretty much like a top. It needed a new rear tire, the front still has plenty of life and doesn't bear the weight of my fat ass all the time. The chain was replaced, and there was small tune-up done on the rear derailleur. Fairly pricey, but if it transports me 112 miles, I'm not complaining.

Right now, the only things left to buy is another bottle of gatorade, some more Power Bars, and possibly a Clift Bar or two.
