Another week, more snow and sick again.

This year seems to be heading toward the record book in terms of snowfall, and in terms of cold. With Algore's global warming coming down in heaps, remember snow is only 80% air, and the temperature being pretty stable in the teens, I have pretty much determined that I'm gonna have to just get used to it. For the most part, I don't have a problem getting out in the snow and running, it can be pretty peaceful in the early morning. The wet, not been plowed yet stuff is annoying and running in wet shoes sucks even when the mercury is hovering at 80 degrees.

My wife had strep last weekend, and was down and out for the whole weekend. I started feeling real crappy on Sunday, continued through Monday, and well, for the rest of the week I haven't been straying too far from the porcelain. I have managed to get into the pool twice and even though they haven't been too stellar of workouts, I have been able to work on my stroke mechanics, which is a good thing. As far as getting sick on a continuous basis, I have come to the conclusion that I will have to make due as they come. Like the weather, this year has been a little different, meaning stranger than normal.

With the end of January coming tomorrow, I've noticed that my mileage has gotten better in the running department. No injuries and no problems, so the schedule seems to be working pretty well. The pedaling around the basement has gotten tedious, (movie recommendation: The Dark Knight is very good. Watching the latest Mummy movie, will have to try to overlook the fact that Rachel Weisz isn't in this one,) but I'll probably have 25 hours for the past month. Hells bells, I don't think I'm going to get the bike out until April at this rate. With February comes a few more two-a-days, and the running schedule starts full swing as I gear up for the half marathon in OKC and for the run portion of the Edinboro Tri. As much as I want to love the race, I have not performed well on my home course, and it is really something that is sticking in my rear.
